NKOTBSB - Stepy by step.

I had been anxiously waiting, and it was finally official - the first set of tour dates had been announced. Since I was going to school in Calgary, AB and planned on staying, I was hoping to see it on the list. No such luck. I was going to have to settle for Vancouver, BC - which is a 13 hour drive from Calgary. My mom - always the voice of reason - thought I should wait. She was sure when they announced a second set of dates that Calgary would be on the list. If it was announced before the pre-sale for Vancouver, I was willing to wait. It wasn't, so I bought tickets for the first Vancouver concert.

I had become a member of the Backstreet Boys fanclub to take part in the pre-sales. I don't know what took me so long to discover the fanclub, but once I did I was introduced to a whole new world! I had no idea such things as Gold or Silver VIPs existed. I always saw the passes at concerts, and I would tell my sister that we needed to figure out what they were and how to get them. Turns out it wasn't that tough!

As a new member to the fanclub, I was under the impression that during the pre-sale there would be some great (if not, amazing) seats available. Boy, was I wrong! I had set up two laptops, I had the timing down to a matter of seconds - I was ready. And I wound up disappointed. I don't understand the logic of pre-sales. If I go through the trouble of paying for a membership and purchasing tickets the moment they go on sale, should I not get the best tickets possible? Afterall, it does state best available. I am not buying it.

After a disappointing pre-sale, I sweet-talked my mother and father into purchasing Gold VIPs as a Christmas gift for my sister and I. My sister is not a diehard Backstreet fanatic like myself, but she wasn't about to turn down a chance to meet the boys.

After a month or so, a second set of tour dates was released. Sure enough, Calgary, AB was on the list. Since I was living in the city, it would be a true sin not to attend the concert. I decided to buy a second set of tickets. Not through pre-sale, however. I tried my luck with ticketmaster.ca, which didn't fare well either. But I had tickets, that's all that mattered to me!

There was a second Vancouver, BC date added to the tour. Out of curiosity I checked what type of tickets were available, and to my surprise I pulled up floor seats! I ran the idea by my sister - who jumped at the idea to experience it from the floor - and we purchased our third set of tickets. By that time, I had moved back to Revelstoke, BC which had put a bit of kink in my original plan, but I was going to make it work. And we did!
